Thanks from the Lovebirds

This is a thank you card for our engagement party.  :-)  We had an absolutely fabulous time!  With each card, we are sending photos of the family/couple at the party.

Supplies:
  • Certainly Celery 4 1/4 x 11
  • Bashful Blue 3 x 5 1/2 + scrap
  • Choccolate Chip 4 x 4
  • Always Artichoke scrap 6 x 6
  • Crumb Cake scrap
  • Red Glimmer paper scrap
  • Dimensionals
  • Xyron Create a Sticker
  • 2 Way glue stick
  • Computer generated Sentiment

I cut the tree out of Chocolate Chip.  Then I cut the layers out of Always Artichoke.  I cut 2 layers, one with a circle cut out of the middle.  I adhered all of these together and then put a dimenional on the back of the birds and placed in the center of the circle.  I added some leaves around the birds and a little punched heart just above them.

Score the Certainly Celery at 1", 2 3/4", 3 3/4", 5 1/2" then flip and score the other end the same way.  Fold all score lines.  At the 5 1/2 scoreline, make a small slit from .5 to 9.5 cm (using the cutting guide on a paper trimmer).  Fold both of the 1" scorelines in and add ashesive, slip the Bashful Blue through the slit and then line up with the 1" fold.  Then line up the other 1" fold and adhere together.  Add dimentionals to the tree and then place at the bottom of the little box that forms when the tag is pulled up.

Engagement Party Invitations

Ok so I am so excited about these cards!  They turned out absolutely adorable.

Supplies
  • 2 sheets 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 cardstock (I used Elegant Eggplant and Whsiper White)
  • 3 x 4 3/4 cardstock (Elegant Eggplant)
  • Dazzling Diamonds
  • Computer generated Sentiment
  • Dimensionals
  • Xyron Create a Sticker
  • 5" 5/8 ribbon
So I took the top piece (elegant eggplant) and 3 1/2 in cut between 3/4 & 4 3/4 on both sides then do a 90 degree turn and slide it in to 4 3/4 and cut between the two cuts - this is the bottom).  Starting with the bottom score at 1 1/4, 3 & 4 3/4.  Fold your score lines.  I find it best to fold them and then fold them back slightly so it lays flat.  The 3" score line will be a mountain and the other two will be valleys.

Line up the top and bottom pieces and punch a half circle at the top near the 4 3/4 scoreline.

Adhere the 3 x 4 3/4 piece of cardstock to bottom of the section you cut (it should be about 1/2 an inch).  Now adhere the top and bottom pieces nust on the sides and the bottom on the very edge.

Adhere the ring and box to the front and the sentiment above that.  I also then adhered a photo to the top part of the tag.

3 Month Anniversary Star Card

I am seriously excited about this star card (it is more like a book really).  It turned out very nicely!

Supplies:
  • 7 - 5 1/2 x 11 white cardstock
  • 7 - 5 1/2 x 9 white cardstock stamped
  • 7 - 5 1/2 x 7 cherry cobbler cardstock
  • 2 - 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 chipboard pieces (covered)
  • 2 sets of computer generated sentiments
  • Decorative Label Punch
  • 2 - 12" pieces of ribbon
  • Cherry Cobbler Ink
  • Scraps
  • Clear thread
  • Xyron Create-a-Sticker
  • 2 way glue pen
  • Scotch tape
  • Dimensionals
  • Lots and lots of adhesive
  • Half back self-adhesive pearls
Cut the sentiments out with the decorative curly label punch.  Run one set through the Xyron create-a-sticker and then attach two pieces of clear thread to the edges and then adhere the other sentiment to the back to hold the thread in place.  Fold all of the pieces in half (so you will have 5 1/2 x 5 1/2, 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 & 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 pieces).  Starting with the 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 pieces, adhere them together into a "stack."  Then inside each of the 7 pieces, adhere the sides a 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 pieces (lining up the edges.  Using scotch tape, adhere the thread to the back of the 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 pieces.  Adhere the edges of these as you did with the 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 pieces.  Attach the ribbon to the top and the bottom of the stack and then adhere the covered chipboard pieces to the front and the back.  I decorated the front cover with the double heart from the Wedding cartridge.  I glittered the layer and adhered it with dimensionals.  This was a fairly easy project, but it was a bit time intensive.

New Craft Space

Woohoo!  A new desk and a new chair!  My sweetheart definitely went all out for our 3-6 month anniversaries.  :-)  My old desk was super wobbly, so he bought me a new desk and then decided I also needed a new chair.  I just can't get over how much space I have now!

Day 4 Collection of Cards

Day 4 of my collection of cards for my boyfriend.  This is a brand new technique for me.  From the outside it looks completely normal, but inside there is a fun surprise.

Supplies:
  • White cardblank 5 x 7
  • 3" circle of acetate cut in a spiral
  • Yellow & black cardstock scraps
  • Mini glue dots
  • Computer generated sentiment
Decorate the outside of the card with the beehive cut from the Sentimentals cartridge and a single bee.

Cut the 3" circle into a spiral and place a glue dot on the center and adhere to the inside of card where desired.  Place a glue dot on the end of the spiral and close the card to adhere.  Adhere the bees in various locations on the loops of acetate.

NOTE:  I didn't have any acetate, so I used a transparency sheet.
