This one was super simple.  I think I am getting stuck in a rut of just doing flat cards!

Birthday Honeydew List

I am really happy with how this card turned out.  :-)

I cut the melon slice from certainly celery at a height of 1.5 & 0.5.  I then cut the shift for the melon slice from white at the same sizes.  The white cardstock was heavily sponged and the edge of the certainly celery was also sponged (in fact, all of the layers of everything were sponged for this card).  I adhered the computer generated sentiments to a piece of certainly celery cardstock.  I then adhered these to the card base.  I added dimensionals to both of the melon pieces and then adhered them to the card base.

Very simple, but so cute!!

Thanks for Ministering sunset shadowbox card

I was asked to make some thank you cards for some women who will be ministering in May to our ladies fellowship group.  I was asked to try to make them Wyoming-esque.  So this is one of the ideas I had.  It is a combination of two different techniques that I have seen.  The first is called a shadowbox card and I have posted instrcutions on how to make this type of card.  Click on the shadowbox label in the list and it will give you the post with the instructions.  The second technique is to create a sunset effect.

Supplies:

• Chocolate chip cardstock (for base)
• 4 x 6 glossy photo paper
• Black cardstock
• White circle of cardstock
• So Saffron classic ink
• Pumpkin stayz-on ink
• Cherry cobbler classic ink
• Chocolate chip classic ink
• Raffia
• Modern label punch
• Computer generated sentiment
• Dimensional

I prepared the base of the card (directions are in another post with the label shadowbox) and set these pieces aside.

To do the sunset effect, I sponged so saffron ink over the entire area of the glossy photo paper.  I then took the circle punchout and taped it to the glossy photo paper to mask off this area.  Using a brayer, I covered the entire surface with the pumpkin stayz-on ink.  Next I heavily sponged the sides with the cherry cobbler, making sure to get the ink also on the top of the card.  Finally, I lightly sponged just the sides of the photo paper with the chocolate chip ink.  I let this dry for a few minutes and removed the masking.  I adhered the mountains to this and trimmed the sides.  I then adhered this to the base of the card and put the base together.  I added just a little bit of raffia to the sides and added the computer generated sentiment with a dimensional.

Nest in a Tree card

This card was inspired by Jeannie Phillips on the Cricut messageboards about a year ago.  This is the second card I've made for my "tweetheart."

Supplies:

• Always Artichoke cardstock
• Chocolate Chip cardstock
• Bashful Blue cardstock
• Cherry Cobbler cardstock
• light blue DCWV cardstock
• 5 x 7 card base
• Always Artichoke classic stamp pad
• Dimensionals
• Mini Glue Dots

I cut the tree out of the chocolate chip cardstock (I believe at 5.5" high) and cut two of the shift feature for the tree at the same size out of always atrichoke (one of the trees, I cut a hole in the center using a circle from George).  I adhered one of the trees to the base and then used dimensionals to adhere the second one.  I inked around the edges of the tree with the always artichoke ink.  I added the leaves around the tree with mini glue dots.  I cut the birds out of bashful blue.  I just colored the hat with a black pen.  I cut the two hearts out of cherry cobbler and the nest out of crumb cake.  I adhered the birds inside the circle with a dimensional.

Very simple card, but I love how it turned out.  :-)

Wedding Invitations!!

Ok so no date is set yet, and I don't have my ring yet, but I was too excited to not post the idea I had for wedding invitations.  :-)  I absolutely LOVE how this turned out!

• Base 5 1/2 x 1
• Extension of base 2 1/2 x 5 1/2
• 8 1/2 x 11 Elegant Eggplant cardstock
• Piece A cut at 1 1/2 x 5
• Piece B cut at 3 1/2 x 5
• Piece C cut at 2 x 5
• Piece D cut at 5 x 5
• Piece E cut at 3 1/2 x 3 1/2
• 6 self-adhesive Basic Pearls (3 mm)
• Xyron Sticker Maker
• Crystal Fine Glitter
• Dimensionals
• 2 Way Glue Pen
• Stampin' Up Vintage Vogue Clear Stamp Set
• Stayz On Opaque White Ink
• Computer Generated Sentiment (Font is Penhurst

Score the base piece at 2", 7 1/2", 11 1/2" and then adhere the base extension at the 11 1/2 score mark.  Fold all score marks.  (The 2" fold will form the flap at the top of the invitation.)  Adhere the sides of the base extension to the base to form the pocket that holds the RSVP card.

Cut the heart and shadow and LOVE from the Sweethearts Cart at 1.5" Run the white blackout heart through the sticker maker.  Adhere the flourish heart to it and then sprinkle with glitter.  (I tried to use a 2-way glue pen and it did not work as well.)  I adhered the self-adhesive pearls to the corners of the top flap and to the bottom.  (I adhered them to the heart also, but decided I didn't like them on the heart.)

Stamp all pieces of Elegant Eggplant with the flourish stamp from the Vintage Vogue stamp set with the white StayzOn.  Adhere Piece A to the front of the flap.  Adhere Piece B to the bottom flap (under the flap). Adhere the glittered heart to flap using dimensionals.  Adhere Love to the bottom flap.  Open the card.  Adhere Piece C to the RSVP pocket.  Adhere Piece D to the inside of the base card.  Adhere the computer generated sentiment to Piece D.

I stamped both sides of Piece E and then adhered the computer generated RSVP sentimentto the front.

Everyday Springtime Card

I'm really really happy with how this card turned out.

Supplies:

• 6 x 3 green cardstock
• 5 1/4 x 8 blue cardstock
• 6 x 6 yellow cardstock
• 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card blank
• Cuttlebug (Divine Swirls)
• Computer generated sentiment (Font is Curlz)
• Dimensionals

I took a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of blue cardstock and embossed it with the Cuttlebug.  I sanded it a little to give it a bit of a look of clouds.  I adhered this to the card blank.  I cut the grass from Paper Dolls for Everyday at 5.72 x 1.30 and adhered it with dimensionals.  The daffodils are cut from Walk in My Garden at 0.70 x 1.75.  I cut the yellow parts of the daffodils 2 times, and did double layers for the "flute" parts of them.  These were popdotted at the top and then just 2 way glued to the grass.  The sun was cut twice and one was adhered directly to the blue and the other was popdotted .  I put the remaining piece of blue cardstock on the inside (un-embossed).  Then layered the computer generated sentiment on a scrap of the yellow and put another popdotted daffodil in the corner.

Wild Thing Card

Wow I actually made a FLAT card! But of course it has a bit of a twist to it.

• White cardstock 10 1/4  x 4 1/4
• Brown cardstock 3 x 6
• Tan cardstock 3 x 2
• 3 heart buttons
• 6 brads
• Computer generated sentiment

I scored the white cardstock at 5 1/2" and then tore it at about 1" to form the separation.  I scored the top of the card with the Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder.  I cut the lion from Everyday Paper Dolls twice (once from brown and once from tan) and then on the tan one,  I trimmed off the mane.  Using my Word Window punch, I punched out 3 pieces from the brown cardstock and then attached  the torn piece to the base using brads.  I added dimensionals to the buttons and put them in the center of the window punches. I printed the sentiment on my computer and used the Word Window punch to cut it out and placed it on a piece of brown cardstock and adhered to the inside of the card.
